Maca is another SUPERFOOD that has become popular of late. It is a potent plant originating from Peru that has been used for thousands of years for nourishment and healing.
Benefits of maca:

- Aids in reproductive function
-helping to balance hormones
-Increase fertility

- Can increase bone density- which could be helpful for women who have a family history of osteoporosis
Incorporating Maca powder into your daily diet routine can be an excellent energy enhancer and the pick me up that most of us need in our busy lives.

It can be taken daily in yoghurts and smoothies, included in soups and used in baking.
Alternatively it can be taken as a shot in some water or juice.
It is recommended to take 1 tsp initially and gradually increase to a daily intake of 1 tbsp

Here is my energising maca smoothie recipe….
Maca, Banana & cinnamon smoothie:
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 300ml milk (I used coconut almond milk)
- 1 banana
- 1 tsp agave (or honey, sweet freedom or nut butter)
- 1 tsp-1 tbsp maca powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Here’s what to do:
- Simply add all to a blender and blitz until smooth

Maca, Apple & blueberry smoothie
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 300ml Almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1 apple (cored)
- 1 tsp-1 tbsp Maca powder
- Handful of blueberries
Here’s what to do:
